“Nothin’s Impossible For A Man If He Don’t Have To Do It Hisself” !!!!

As a “cowpoke”, I cannot remember a time when I have not walked into certain businesses, particularly barbershops and banks in our area, and hanging on the wall was the Back Forty calendar. When I see one I always read the humorous one or two line caption that most of the time bring out real life truth in a “cowpoke” way. This particular one is not from the Back Forty calendar. Ace Reid has for many years written of “cowpokes” and this is one of his similar cartoons .

In life, it does ring true, that if you have enough resources you can have accomplished about anything this world has to offer. The “cowpoke” above is picking and shoveling and toiling, while the rancher is sitting and watching the task being done. The rancher is paying the “cowpoke” to do his work for him.

Spiritually speaking, “nothin’s impossible for a man if he don’t have to do it hisself” is NOT absolutely accurate. To be absolutely accurate the statement should read “salvation is impossible if he tries to do it hisself”. You may toil and work and labor until you go to your grave and you still will not be able to please God. To be a son or daughter of the living God you cannot do it yourself. You cannot pay to have someone else do it for you either. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9).

The reason being, Christ has already accomplished salvation for His people, and He did all of the work by the giving of His life, voluntarily, because He loved us; and the most wonderful thing of it all, salvation is a FREE GIFT, no works involved by anyone, no payment required; to all that will trust in Him to personally bear their sin. By faith, call upon Him to save you and to be The Lord of your life.  “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5). Do not forget, this is a free gift to us. It has already been purchased by His Precious blood. If you have never accepted The Gift (Jesus Christ) yet, won’t you do it today? Cuz it ain’t possible without Him!!!!

Until next time, Lord willing,

Levi

Love this one, Levi! Man has a sin problem…he has had said problem for a very long time! If we could have corrected it ourselves, Christ would not have had to go to the cross.

Yet, we know how that worked out…

We cannot fight off the temptations of sin by our weak, human selves. We must have God’s help and His grace in order to be acceptable to Him. Through faith in Jesus, and grace from God, we can have life instead of death.

    Enjoyed this,
    Steve

Hey Steve, glad you liked it. Same old problem we’ve had since Adam. I keep trying to tell the only remedy In a different, but direct way. Nice evening.

Well as scripture says…”just as sin entered the world by one man, the cure for sin was also by the sacrifice of one man, Jesus Christ…”

        A forever fact!

Think we can handle the sin problem ourselves? Levi tells us we’d better think again…
