As I write this we are flying at an altitude of 35,000 feet somewhere between Chicago and New York. Looking out of the window far above the clouds it seems that I can see forever. My thoughts quickly changed to how grand and majestic our great God is. In reality, I can’t see over than the horizon, but God sees all of His infinite creation. The thoughts of it are incomprehensible to me as a mere created being.
In Deut. 5:24 Moses wrote “Behold, the LORD our God has shown us His glory and greatness, and we have heard His voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live”.
As God spoke directly to Moses, He still speaks to us today through His Word, the Bible. Moses was shown the glory and greatness of God face to face. Today, we come face to face with God through the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, the Christ, The Savior of men and women and boys and girls.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14).
I want to encourage you today to look into His face and worship Him. He is worthy of all praise.
“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” (Jude vs. 25)
If you have a moment you will want to listen to the song “Behold Our God” by the Sovereign Grace Music.
