World Concord !!!!!!

World Concord !!!!!!

And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4)

Oh, that these happy times were come! At present the nations are heavily armed and are inventing weapons more and more terrible, as if the chief end of man could only be answered by destroying myriads of his fellows. Yet peace will prevail one day; yes, and so prevail that the instruments of destruction shall be beaten into other shapes and used for better purposes.

How will this come about? By trade? By civilization? By arbitration? We do not believe it. Past experience forbids our trusting to means so feeble. Peace will be established only by the reign of the Prince of Peace. He must teach the people by His Spirit, renew their hearts by His grace, and reign over them by His supreme power, and then will they cease to wound and kill. Man is a monster when once his blood is up, and only the Lord Jesus can turn this lion into a lamb. By changing man’s heart, his bloodthirsty passions are removed. Let every reader of this book of promises offer special prayer today to the Lord and Giver of Peace that He would speedily put an end to war and establish concord over the whole world.

Interesting Levi that the word ‘The Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of his father David…………’ to Mary!

And He still will get grief ruling with perfect justice and judgment. But truly, one day, the lion and the lamb WILL lie down together.

He sure did a good job of beating my sword into a plow. It took a long hard process but He did not give up.

Carolyn and I were discussing how when we pray we seldom pray that the Lord would save and change the hearts of the me nabs women of the porn industry, the drug cartels, the human trafficking, ISIS. We only want Those things to stop and go away. Or better yet not even think about them. God said that he came that not one would be lost but all be saved. By his power and might. The lion lays down. Will we pray?

What a wonderful reminder of who the prince of peace in our life’s is.

    Much love Tom

Well said, CH! It is strange to see how our nations justify war.

Yes, we must pray earnestly, speak truth fearlessly, love unconditionally (so much as we are able), and not descend into fear-filled hatred. Those we most love to hate are our potential brothers and sisters. Yes, the Prince of Peace can accomplish this. And we’re part of the plan! Very challenging topic and word from CHS.

We are part of the plan. It is hard for us to look at people the way Jesus did. The older i get the easier it has become but not perfectly. After 911 i had real problems in my heart towards muslims but the Lord showed me my sin. I began to witness to them but it took awhile for that to happen. After visiting the 911 memorial last week i felt the feeling coming over me again but God has removed it. Blessings, dear Elouise.

Levi, Thanks so much for sharing this. I also struggle with the challenge. My favorite theologian from the Hitler years–pre and post-WWII– is Karl Barth. He’s the one who got me thinking about the way I approach or even think about people we ‘love to hate’ or think will always be enemies of the God we worship. We don’t know what could happen. And yes, it’s a big issue personally (not just nationally or between denominations and churches). I applaud your struggle and honesty. Give us the eyes of Jesus! Even for a moment that might count some day for eternity.

We arent alone in this struggle. Its a trait of all fallen humanity. We need to continue to grow in His grace.
