New York Ministry Update

17 Jan

I am currently at Laguardia Airport waiting for my flight back to Oklahoma. It has been a great week in NYC doing what I love and am called to do – that is to share Jesus as the Messiah and Savior to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

It has been a cold week so we spent Thursday afternoon offering hot chocolate with whipped cream to the sidewalk passerbys. Our objective in this is to show kindness, warm them up with something that taste very good, and to get into conversations with them. Relationships are how the Gospel is best shared. We always have group prayer before we begin an outreach that God will open hearts. He seldom disappoints.

On Friday 3 of us traveled to Brooklyn Heights in a mainly Jewish area and spent 3 hours working to get into conversations with folks. We all were able to get into 3 conversations each to begin a realationship, to create thoughts of their need to contemplate spiritual things from the perspective of the Bible.

I mentioned the reason I can’t write posts for the blog often is because of my time constraint. I have been working 200-250 chats a week on the Jews For Jesus Live Chat room. After planting thoughts to consider I invited these people to our Live Chat to further discuss Messiah Jesus. In total anonymity they can come and discuss. I am very happy to report to you that in the past 3 weeks 2 individual Jewish people have come to Jesus. And many others are considering with further communications taking place. Theses are from the world over and some from Israel.

My highlight of the week though came Tuesday morning. After awakening there was a Jewish person in India that was going to end his life. He was crying out in desperation and I felt the urgency of the cry. I responded to him in a lengthy response of why he should not end his life and that there is hope only in God through Jesus.

Yesterday, after returning from Brooklyn Heights, I received the greatest email saying that he was now at peace and thanked God for saving his life.
I rejoiced that God used His Word and hopefully this gentleman will follow Jesus. It’s amazing to be a small part in the propagation of the Good News of the Son of God,

I have one more prayer request if you would. Stewart and Shoshannah Weinisch, missionaries in NYC, have met for a few months sharing weekly with Paula. She asked to have a meeting with me. I met with her for an hour and a half discussing Jesus. I feel she is very near in coming to Him. Please pray that Paula will soon be saved.

May God bless each one of you as you share God’s love expressed to us in the sending of His Son for our redemption.

Until next time, Lord willing, Shalom,

Levi

Thank you for your prayers for Paula. She can’t wait to come each week but her main objection right now is what her friends and family will think. This is the biggest obstacle to overcome it seems in Jewish evangelism because community means so much to them. They are a tight knit community. You are a blessing to me. Thank you!!

Levi, you are following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ himself. Conversion can only occur through human contact and interaction. I wish more church members would get out of church and become missionaries on Sunday afternoon in our inner cities. Those lost, and unloved, children need SO desperately to know somebody cares about what happens to them, and more importantly, that God loves them. God bless you and keep you. You are an amazing Christian and an inspiration to us all.

Man I’m so ready to come to NY with you. I can feel Jesus everywhere through your post. You are so special to me, understanding me in a different way than most believers do. The heart God has given you for my people takes my breath away. I can’t wait until God has us evangelizing together. I may hug you so tight the first time we do that I may not let you go lol. Love you

Levi, your heart is filled with the pure golden love of God and it seeps out in every word you write and action you commit. I commend you, as my brother and follower of our Lord in Heaven, for fulfilling your purpose to spread your love. More important than any scripture you share, or message you relay about the Lord, is the Godly love you spread willingly and openly, as much as possible. Your ability to not only display love, but clearly challenge yourself to find new ways to share love, is inspirational and admirable! Thank you for continuing to show the love of God and may He bless you, to continue to do so for the rest of your days. May an abundance of love, peace and blessings always be with you!!

Levi after reading this post today I looked back to see when the Lord gave me my last post (Family Reunion), which came not as a word from Him, but an inspired prayer that birthed forth and it was on January 12th. I believe He had me interceding for you. Great to hear what you and the Holy Spirit have been up to. Well done. Keep up the good and faithful work. You are a blessing to the Kingdom!!

It looks like this may be the case in your intercession. The Holy Spirit leads and He confirms to us at times why we were lead to do certain things. Bless the Lord for His goodness. There are many Jewish people coming to Messiah and Savior Jesus these days. If only the church understood the program of God and that it has been grafted in, and is not the main stock. The church has reversed God’s program in practice, even though their theology may say otherwise. Thank you for your prayers and your concern for this ministry. God bless!! Btw, great post you wrote on the 12th. šŸ™‚
