MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!!!!

24 Dec

She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.””Matthew 1:21 (ESV)
Unlike the reading from Luke, Matthew does not speak of angels, shepherds, or a manger. Matthew simply states that Mary was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit and that the LORD tells Joseph in a dream not to reject her. Instead, God told him to name the baby, Jesus.
In contrast, Luke mentions nothing of the revealing of Mary’s pregnancy to Joseph or any of his struggle with what to do about it.
If we were to remove any of the Gospels from the Bible, we would lose important information, but taken together, we see a full picture of Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection.
There is an old expression, “Not being able to see the forest for the trees.” In terms of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we need the trees to see the forest.”
Each one of us has been given our own individual personality. We see life from different perspectives and each one of us has been given individual gifts in ministry. One person is not greater than another, but each of our stories and the way in which we love the LORD and our neighbor is important to the total story of salvation.
There may be some in the world who are perishing because they need your specific story, your particular gift, and your act of love to reveal Jesus.
When the final chapter of the story of salvation is finally written and we stand before the throne to hear whose names are written in the Book of Life, we will discover how each of us participated in the story which completed God’s plan.
Never think you are unimportant. That would be a lie, just like saying that one book of the Bible is unimportant. Each of us has the opportunity to change the world, and we need one another, working in the power of the Holy Spirit, to complete the process.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!!

That last line is very beautiful. “Never think you are unimportant. That would be a lie, just like saying that one book of the Bible is unimportant. Each of us has the opportunity to change the world…” The message applies all year round.

I’m glad to hear you are doing well, Levi. You had a very busy and sometimes challenging two years past, and it’s remarkable how, instead of tiring you out, it seems to have energized you. God is on the job with you!

Yes, doing very well. I’m still traveling a lot. I’m in NYC on a regular basis and just returned from SF and next week heading to Portland, and so on. But I’m home and still involved as a master gardener on a regular basis. All is well and God is good. I hope you and your husband are in good health and preparing for the summer. It takes a lot to keep such a pretty place like you have. It’s great to hear from you. And if you wish you can always email me. It’s levithetford@gmail.com. God bless!!!!
